This article examines the extent to and the ways in which the Holocaust is presented in Albanian secondary school history textbooks. It offers a quantitative analysis of the space devoted to the ...Holocaust in proportion to the textbooks' overall content and a qualitative content analysis based on the narrative patterns outlined in the UNESCO report The International Status of Education about the Holocaust: A Global Mapping of Textbooks and Curricula. It demonstrates that Albanian textbooks offer scant coverage of the Holocaust, but that some changes regarding the conceptualization, contextualization, and narrative of the Holocaust have been implemented since the curricular reform of 2004.
One of the important components considered in this research approach is given by the study on teaching-learning strategies, methods and techniques in the lessons aimed at organizing economic ...activities. It is understood that such a topic takes into account, on the one hand, a series of aspects related to an economic issue, and on the other hand, issues of a methodological / didactic nature found in the teaching-learning-assessment activity. At the same time, the approach that is intended to be highlighted reflects the practical-theoretical dimension of such a possible approach in class.Under these conditions, the research approach assumed involves an analysis focused, on the one hand, on the theoretical aspects related to the approached topic, and on the other hand, on the conceptual-theoretical operationalization with practical implications. In other words, there is an interest in valorizing and capitalizing on the contents approached both theoretically and practically. Therefore, it is considered that we will analyze, from a theoretical and pragmatic perspective, the strategies, methods and teaching-learning techniques at the level of economic-themed classes, also revealing the impact it has in the economic-educational dimension.

In the first part, the article presents a series of theoretical aspects about interdisciplinarity, a concept which under the present conditions of the new curriculum for preschool education, requires ...a new approach of mathematical contents and particularly another modality of using didactic strategies. The second part of the article focuses on the presentation of two models of interdisciplinary activities, which are meant to emphasize those methodical aspects, which should be taken into account by the teacher, in approaching mathematical contents and in correlating them by means of the other experiential fields. In the end, the stress is laid on some conclusions regarding the use of interdisciplinarity in approaching mathematical contents at the level of preschool education.
Using « Lebanese » Arabic in the classroom (2010-2012) Abstract: This action research explores the use of the ‘Lebanese’ Arabic to motivate Lebanese students to use the languages of instruction in Lebanese schools. It aims to examine how much the use of the colloquial Lebanese Arabic and the languages of socialization with 10 to 12 year old students encourage them to use multilingual resources developed outside the school context in their respective classes. The instruments used to conduct this qualitative study are semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, class videos and notebook diary.

Many educators face problems with integrating testing into programming education. For instance: existing courses are already fully packed; testing requires skills that students might not yet have; ...and testing is, although considered important, not always given priority by students. Educators, in general, do not have time to overhaul a programming course to fully integrate testing, resulting in a situation in which the improvement of testing education seems to have slowed down. In this paper, we propose Test Informed Learning with Examples (TILE), a new concept to create test-awareness in introductory programming courses. TILE aims to introduce testing as early as possible and in a subtle way. As a result, integration into existing curricula can be done seamlessly and requires less effort than completely overhauling existing programming courses. The contributions of this paper are: the presentation of TILE; experiences of having applied this method in the classroom; and an open repository with assignments using our approach. Applying TILE seems to be a promising approach to introduce testing in early programming. Moreover, some TILEs can be added to existing courses with almost no effort from day one. More research is needed to gain confidence in the benefits of using TILE over time and to collect evidence that we reached the final aim of TILE, i.e. students that test because that inherently belongs to programming, and not because it is explicitly asked from them.
Internal assessment is not often studied as a form of assessment although it is the teacher daily school activity. This thesis focuses on the most explicit part of this assessment i.e. all the tasks given to the pupils by their teacher in order to assess them. These tasks are used for evaluative judgment written in the « school report book». More precisely, we study this assessment validity depending on three distinct issues: a conformity issue that allows us to understand how assessing may fulfill the institutional specifications; a psycho-didactics issue that allows us to see how each task is likely to fulfill the assigned goals' or not; a didactics issue that allows us to grasp how the tests may conceptually cover the concerned disciplinary fields. This thesis explores internal assessments in French and Mathematics conducted by 1st grade teachers during the first and third terms. We particularly focus on reading, numeracy and arithmetic that are subfields with high socio-educational stakes. In order to examine the first issue, we explain the reference frameworks used by teachers when giving the test. French school programs are central in this area. We investigate how those reference frameworks and school reports are linked. It shows how assessment conforms to the academic institution. When focusing on our main issue, the psycho-didactic one, we emphasize for each task on the elements that could have been missed by the conceptual analysis of the task but yet could turn out to be key factors in the pupils answering behaviors. It means a new reference framework needs to be accounted for: the psycho-didactic approach brings the analysis tools for each task and for the potential cognitive functioning of the pupils who perform those tasks. In order to construct the validity analysis of the test from our third issue (test cover validity), we point out the didactic (or epistemo-didactic) frameworks that allows us to analyze the content of the tests given by each teacher. In combining the psycho-didactic and didactic approaches of assessment validity, we are able to conduct a double analysis, a global one and a local one, of both tasks and tests. The validity of a test depends on the validity of its tasks. The results mainly show that the tasks validity and the tests validity are often not ensured, which leads to question the value of evaluative judgment following the assessment. This advocates for a validity analysis combining a didactic approach of the test content to a psycho-didactic approach of the tasks.
Often considered as a linguistic and narrative process reserved to children, tale's approach can not be overlooked in Cameroonian socio-cutural and anthropological context. Even though, nowadays, there is an evident development and the expasion of a rampant writing culture. In fact, in oral tradition, tale occupies an essential place in the learning process. But, then, how, and with what specific pedagogy, the tale can be hepful for pupils in their curriculum as far as learning is concerned ? Since, each tale is mainly given orally, how can it be proposed to learners who are of a different cultural background, namely, a writing culture ? In this work, taking into consideration didactic approach of educational actors, our main purpose is to establish that the pedagogic dimension of tale does not rely only on its artistic relevance but has a primordial role in oral tradition. Consequently our results first of all show that trough this cultural chanel, that is, tale, is an efficient instrument for a reliable communication in oral tradition; tale is a bridge in cultural transmission. Secondly, by using tale's approach, learners are better equiped in their narrative skills. Therefore, the present work puts accross the importance of tales in oral tradition speciffically and in a writing culture as well. Indeed tale is a valuable pedadogic agent. As our research work try to show, tale can no longer be considered as a pure playful and childish literature, but an indispensable vector of intercultural identity in Cameroonian context. Taking into account various levels of mediation, the present work proposes concrete linguistic activities, not from the tales gathered in various textbooks of the official schools' curricula, but from a new directory which may enable eventual users to explore the didactic approach yet to be discovered in tale's wisdom.
