Didactic games are attractive and motivating tools; they draw students' attention to the subject, quickly activate the learning mechanism, allow each student to develop their skills, and break the ...routine schemes in the classroom for teaching. The primary purpose of this work is to analyze the influence of didactic games as a pedagogical strategy in the teaching-learning process of the periodic table in first-year high school students. The research was applied to 60 students under a quasi-experimental modality, where two didactic games were implemented in an experimental group and another control group. It was developed with the application of the traditional teaching method. It was possible to observe that bingo and the chemical deck are suitable didactic activities, improving the students' attention. It is concluded that the game represents a didactic resource for teaching chemical elements, significantly improving grades.
Nowadays, environmental stability and a sustainable development are endangered for different reasons, such as species extinction, biodiversity loss and habitats destruction. Thus, educational serious ...games have grown to be extremely relevant for raising awareness and enhancing knowledge on sustainability, fostering behavioral change for the stability and maintenance of our biosphere. ZooLector is one such game. This game was developed within the scope of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including education (goal 4) and biodiversity (goal 15). The game consists in assembling animal cards collections from all over the world through a pack opening mechanic. The purpose is to enhance the knowledge of players about extinction and biodiversity loss in the animal kingdom. This is an inclusive and accessible game for all students-players, assured by color-blind support and a voice assistant, following concerns of creating inclusive, accessible, and equal opportunities for all students. ZooLector is an approach towards animal-awareness, pro-sustainability behaviors and engagement in sustainable activities, that is primarily thought to be used as an educational and inclusive tool.
According to given facts by the Statistics and Census National Institute (INEC), the population aged 16 to 65 has problems with reading comprehension and pronunciation. In addition, much of the ...country's population has not acquired reading habits since childhood that support their interest in this topic on the grounds that teachers did not lend interest in this educational aspect. In other hand, based on results obtained in the PISA-D 2018 tests in which Ecuador participated for the first time explains that in the reading it reached 49% at a level 2, these figures show us that investment in education per child must increase considerably, fostering a solid foundation in their learning. In this line, in this paper, we present a an intelligent and educational enviroment where teachers will be able to provide the necessary help to the level of need of students, who through an intuitive application, and didactic will allow them to learn while playing by improving each time their level of pronunciation and reading comprehension. The results show excellent levels of acceptance by both basic education teachers and students from 5 to 7 years old.
