Digitalization provides access to an integrated network of unexploited big data with potential benefits for society and the environment. The development of smart systems connected to the internet of ...things can generate unique opportunities to strategically address challenges associated with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure an equitable, environmentally sustainable, and healthy society. This perspective describes the opportunities that digitalization can provide towards building the sustainable society of the future. Smart technologies are envisioned as game-changing tools, whereby their integration will benefit the three essential elements of the food-water-energy nexus: (i) sustainable food production; (ii) access to clean and safe potable water; and (iii) green energy generation and usage. It then discusses the benefits of digitalization to catalyze the transition towards sustainable manufacturing practices and enhance citizens' health wellbeing by providing digital access to care, particularly for the underserved communities. Finally, the perspective englobes digitalization benefits by providing a holistic view on how it can contribute to address the serious challenges of endangered planet biodiversity and climate change.

In the conditions imposed by the pandemic, technology has helped provide digital travel options, leading to an even greater awareness of its importance in our lives. The ease of mobility and the ...power of information has led to a growth in the online tourism market;more and more travel platforms and apps have emerged, social media and global distribution have taken a well-deserved place in tourism marketing. Due to these factors and taking into consideration the growth of online tourism in recent years, as well as its expanding in the foreseeable future, it is imperative to continuously conduct studies concerning the integration of digital technologies in tourism management strategies. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the use of technology in tourism, focusing on the online travel agency market and its influence on tourism management and tourists’ consumer behaviour.

The digital transformation of the forest sector has been supported by the development of data loggers and onboard computers, which enable remote monitoring of forest operations, including ground-based whole-tree harvesting systems. Among the available options, FPDat II and its preceding versions represent a common brand-agnostic solution, particularly in Canada. Despite their widespread use, there remains a gap in the literature and industry knowledge regarding their efficacy and accuracy of production monitoring. To partially address this gap, this study developed an innovative protocol to estimate direct work time and productive time, utilizing FPDat II ignition and motion data, and validated its performance. The accuracy of these estimates was assessed by comparing over 400 h of direct timing through field observations with remotely collected ignition and motion data of 11 different machines. The study further identified data processing strategies to minimize errors in these estimates. Although the results showed poor performance in the estimation of direct work time, the inclusion of time thresholds in the analysis of ignition and motion data enabled a reduction of the overall productive time error to less than 1%. This result was achieved by classifying ignition-off events shorter than one hour and working events shorter than one minute as delays. The ability to successfully track productive time of ground-based harvesting equipment, including equipment used for whole-tree applications, opens up further opportunities in the development of fully automated productivity analysis solutions.

The government has provided an independent teaching platform that can be utilized by teachers in the learning process, leading to digitalization. This is inseparable from TPACK's skills in integrating digital aspects as a technological component with other aspects of PCK. Through the I-CARE training method. Activities are carried out by introducing the importance of the TPACK component. Its application is carried out by guiding teachers to design TPACK and Reflection-based learning by linking the suitability of learning objectives and evaluation by analyzing the resulting TPACK design. The results of the training show that partners are able to connect the 7 aspects of TPACK with a percentage of 76% being able to use technology, 56% having good content knowledge, 74% having good pedagogical competence, 56% of partners being able to connect pedagogy with content, 75% partners being able to connect technology with content, 64% are able to relate technology, pedagogy and content and 50% are able to relate TPACK aspects in their learning design

This paper delves into the driving forces behind this surge, exploring the factors that make online shopping increasingly attractive to Romanian consumers. The examination encompasses the convenience of remote shopping, the extensive variety available online, and the reliability of delivery services. Additionally, the paper addresses the impact of digitization on business dynamics, as enterprises adapt to remain competitive in an evolving marketplace. The research not only sheds light on the current landscape but also aims to unravel the broader implications for businesses, consumers, and the Romanian economy. By dissecting the catalysts and challenges associated with this digital paradigm shift, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between digitization and the escalating trend of online purchasing behavior in Romania. PURPOSE: Information technologies occupy an important place in modern education. This is necessitated both by digitalization processes and by increased public expectations and the labor market. ...Creating and improving young people's digital skills is a key priority of the education system. In this context, the development aims to systematize some of the main problems facing information technology education. METHODS: The applied methods are related to: literature review; survey to identify the problems in information technology training, analysis of possible technological solutions for conducting information technology training. RESULTS: The main results are aimed at systematizing the main problems of information technology education. CONCLUSIONS: The conclusions are in the direction of identifying the main problems in information technology education in the high school stage of secondary schools.
