Drawing on the concept of glocalization, the paper aims to compare experiences and achievements of three Baltic countries in the field of creative industries. It seeks to crystallize the issue of ...creative industries in the Baltic context, and to figure out how the new concept of the creative economy is changing the understanding of the humanities and business functions, and the dynamics of their mutual interaction. In addition to the analysis of the prospects of creative industries in the Baltic countries and the obstacles they are facing, the paper aims at identifying parallel processes (the emergence of business incubators and creative villages) and different environments of the dispersion of creative industries.
This works examines the concept of boundary through the prism of postmodern geopolitics. Through an analysis of theses by eminent authors in this field, the author aims at a synthetic representation ...and evaluation of the complexity of the globalisation phenomenon, and of the consequences that can be caused by deterritorialisation in the postmodern contextualisation of boundaries and space. Some premature theses regarding the "end of geography" or the states' loss of power in the contemporary world, have promptly been countered by well-founded criticism of the scientific community. The central section of the work inquires into the character of deterritorialisation, and analyses the traps inherent to contemporary research of territory and the geopolitical characteristics thereof. U radu se razmatra pojam višejezičnosti i učenje stranih jezika kao dio jezične politike. Pritom se naglašava važnost odabira pojedinoga jezika te dostupnost učenja određenoga jezika u školama, kao i ...način i opseg ponude. U Europi višejezičnost postaje standard, ali poticanje višejezičnosti u zemljama s manjim brojem stanovnika ne znači i potiskivanje materinskog jezika, već, upravo suprotno, prestaje se davati prednost izvornim govornicima jezika zemalja s većim brojem stanovnika.
Zaključuje se da bi i hrvatska jezična politika trebala biti usustavljena te da bi se odabir i redoslijed učenja određenih stranih jezika trebao provoditi argumentirano i planski.
U radu se analiziraju neke temeljne odrednice globalizacije,
kapitalističke kulture i globalne kulture. Središnji problem je
iskazati prirodu kapitalizma kao gospodarskog i kulturnog sustava.
Opća ...kulturna nesigurnost globalizacije opisana je u nekim posebno
razmatranim pristupima "postmodernosti". Autorica naglašava
praktično i teorijsko odbijanje onih globalističkih i univerzalističkih
koncepcija razvoja povijesti koje partikularne interese i vizije dižu na razinu općevažećih principa.
