The Ferruginous Duck Aythya nyroca and Pochard A. ferina are both regular breeders in Bulgaria. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the Ferruginous Duck was a widely distributed and abundant ...breeding species in Bulgaria, while Pochard was first confirmed to breed in the country only in the 1950s. Breeding habitat characteristics of Ferruginous Duck and Pochard were assessed in 2002 during a national census of the former species in 30 and 23 wetlands, respectively, where the species were present. Preferred habitat characteristics were determined based on vegetation cover, water depth, and the presence of mosaic vegetation, bank side vegetation, floating vegetation, shallow or steep banks, shallow mudflats, shallow vegetated areas and woodland along the banks. In 2002, the Ferruginous Duck population in Bulgaria was restricted more to artificial wetlands, like fishponds and micro-reservoirs, while Pochard preferred more natural wetlands, predominantly natural marshes. The altitude of wetlands with Ferruginous Ducks varied markedly, with breeding recorded up to 880 m a.s.l., while Pochard bred at lower altitudes, mostly below 300 m a.s.l. Analysis revealed that Ferruginous Ducks preferred well-vegetated, comparatively shallow wetlands with well-structured mosaic vegetation and a diversity of microhabitats, like shallow mudflats and floating vegetation. The Pochard was found to be more of a generalist in wetland selection, significantly correlated with fewer wetland parameters, and showed preference only for larger, open-water bodies. These results could help explain and give some insight into the reasons for the differences in range size, numbers and distribution of the two species and their respective conservation status in Europe and worldwide. The Pochard, whilst close to the limits of the breeding range in Bulgaria, expands its range in Europe, occupying a variety of wetlands and thus having a favourable status. The Ferruginous Duck is more of a habitat specialist, which limits its distribution and makes it more susceptible to habitat changes. These habitat preferences and the deterioration of the wetland habitats in many parts of its range could probably explain the Ferruginous Duck decreasing population and shrinking breeding range, and thus its current unfavourable conservation status.

Projekt je zasnovan na operativnem metodološkem okviru, ki ...združuje sociološke, ekonomske, ekološke, arhitekturne in druge razvojne strategije. Rezultat študij so razvojni predlogi, ki teritorij omislijo v dimenzijah mrežnega geourbanizma (nova geografija in logistika povezovanja mest), moderniziranja sistema infrastrukture (prenova omrežja in sistema: mobilnosti, energije ipd.), oblikovanja novih hiperrealnosti, utemeljenih v razvoju infostrukture (info-prosti čas-znanje-turistični multirazvoj) in hibridizacije habitata (teritorialne razširitve, prebivalstvo, kultura).
Il n’est pas toujours possible de distinguer, au sein d’un ensemble funéraire apparemment homogène, l’existence de différences statutaires entre les défunts. Pourtant, lorsqu’elles existent, ...celles-ci définissent souvent la manière dont les vivants interagissent avec les morts : comment ils les inhument, combien de temps ils s’en souviennent, quel pouvoir ils leur attribuent. Comment identifier archéologiquement ces distinctions et, surtout, leur donner du sens ? Les pratiques funéraires mayas, étroitement liées aux habitats dans lesquels les morts sont inhumés, obéissent à une grammaire spatiale dont on perçoit aujourd’hui encore les échos parmi leurs descendants. En associant observations archéologiques issues de cas concrets et données ethnographiques, il est possible de rendre partiellement aux défunts leur place dans une hiérarchie funéraire plus nuancée que la figure parfois omniprésente des "ancêtres" ne le laisse envisager.
Cet article examine la reconversion de la "Halle aux pigeons" en "Maison de l'Habitat durable" à Lille, démontrant comment la préservation du patrimoine architectural peut être harmonisée avec les ...impératifs de durabilité de notre époque. L'étude repose sur une méthodologie interdisciplinaire qui intègre des domaines diversifiés, pour mettre en relief les avantages et les défis inhérents à cette approche. L'idée fondamentale est que la reconversion des édifices historiques en espaces contemporains et durables représente une solution viable pour préserver le patrimoine tout en répondant aux besoins actuels. Pour atteindre cet objectif, l'étude fait appel à des méthodes de collecte de données exhaustives, notamment l'analyse documentaire et visuelle, ainsi que l'analyse qualitative, à la fois thématique et comparative. L'objectif ultime est de fournir une compréhension approfondie de cette entreprise de préservation durable du patrimoine bâti, en mettant en lumière son histoire, sa transformation, et son influence sur le tissu urbain contemporain.
Cette étude a pour objectif d’évaluer les potentialités écologiques des carrières après exploitation et leurs apports à la biodiversité régionale dans le contexte éco-paysager. Pour cela, un ...diagnostic écologique a été établi. Il a été basé sur une cartographie des habitats néoformés à l’emplacement des anciens sites d’extraction et sur un recensement systématique des espèces animales (avifaune, herpétofaune, etc.) et végétales à forte valeur patrimoniale. L’étude a été menée sur des carrières alluvionnaires sèches de la plaine de la Crau (sud-est de la France), exploitées dans les années 1970-1980 et qui ont détruit l’écosystème de pelouses sèches méditerranéennes dont la majorité de la surface est actuellement strictement protégée (le reste étant classé en Natura 2000). Après exploitation, ces dernières ont fait l’objet d’une grande diversité d’activités restauratives (réhabilitation écologique, absence de réhabilitation, dépôts de matériaux anthropogéniques, etc.). Les résultats montrent que les anciennes carrières abritent des mosaïques d’habitats qui accueillent des groupes faunistiques et des espèces floristiques diversifiés et forment alors de nombreux refuges pour des espèces rares et menacées. Et même si les cortèges floristiques et faunistiques divergent par rapport à l’écosystème originel, ils peuvent être intéressants du point de vue de la biodiversité. Enfin, ces résultats liés à la faible réussite des opérations de restauration écologique de nos jours peuvent entraîner un changement de paradigme dans les programmes de restauration vers la libre expression des processus naturels caractéristiques de la restauration spontanée ou passive.
This study aims to evaluate the ecological potentials of quarries after exploitation and their contribution to regional biodiversity in their eco-landscape context. To do so, an ecological diagnosis was established. It was based on mapping the neoformed habitats on the old extraction sites and on carrying out a systematic inventory of animal species (birdlife, herpetofauna, etc.) and plants with high heritage value. The study was done on the dry alluvial quarries of the plain of La Crau (South-eastern of France), exploited in the years 1970-1980 and which destroyed the ecosystem of Mediterranean dry grasslands currently strictly protected. After exploitation, quarries were the subject of a great diversity of ecological restorative activities (ecological rehabilitation, lack of rehabilitation, deposits of anthropogenic materials, etc.). The results show that the old quarries are home to mosaics of habitats that host diverse animal groups and plant species and thus form numerous refuges for rare and endangered species. And even if the plant and animal groups diverge from the reference ecosystem, they can be interesting from the point of view of biodiversity. Finally, these results linked to the poor success of other ecological restoration projects of the same ecosystem can lead to a paradigm shift in restoration towards the free expression of the natural processes characteristic of spontaneous or passive restoration.
Le site du Paléolithique supérieur de Yudinovo représente l’un des sites de références, localisé dans le bassin de la Desna, l’un des affluents du Dniepr. Les études pluridisciplinaires de terrain, ...organisées par la mission de la Desna (MAE RAS) et menées entre les années 2004 et 2016, ont changé la vision conservée jusqu’à présent sur la structure et le caractère du site de Yudinovo ainsi que sur la durée de son occupation. Les chercheurs ont constaté la présence d’un gué ancien, utilisé par des mammouths et par d’autres grands mammifères pour traverser la rivière, et une source d’eau était l’un des facteurs principaux pour expliquer la localisation du site de Yudinovo. Le gisement a été occupé d’une manière cyclique. Il a été fréquenté par les Hommes préhistoriques pendant différentes saisons et les périodes d’occupations ont été apparemment de durée variable. La stratigraphie du site de Yudinovo met au jour deux épisodes remarquables dans l’évolution du gisement. La datation de la couche archéologique inférieure remonte à 15 000–13 500 ans av. J.C., tandis que la couche supérieure est attribuée à la période de 12 500–12 000 ans av. J.C. La couche inférieure, qui a été formée pendant l’épisode majeur de l’occupation du gisement, est assez fine et montre une structure stratigraphique complexe. Différentes aires d’activités, des structures d’évacuation, des zones de stockage avec des ossements de mammouth y ont été découvertes. Certains éléments de la couche archéologique inférieure sont parfaitement corrélés avec des épisodes d’occupations sporadiques.
The Upper Palaeolithic site of Yudinovo is one of the reference sites, located in the Desna River Basin. Multidisciplinary field studies, organized by the Desna mission (MAE RAS) and conducted between 2004 and 2016, have changed the vision existed so far on the structure and character of the Yudinovo site as well as on the duration of its occupations. The researchers found an ancient ford used by mammoths and other big mammals to cross the river, and a water source was one of the main factors in explaining the location of the Yudinovo site. The site has been occupied in a cyclical way for stays of varied duration. It was frequented by Prehistoric Men during the different seasons, and periods of occupation were apparently of different duration. The stratigraphy of the Yudinovo site reveals two major episodes in the evolution of the site. The dating of the lower archaeological layer dates back to 15,000–13,500 BC. J.C., while the upper layer is attributed to the period of 12,500–12,000 BC. The lower layer, which was formed during the major episode of occupation of the site, is rather thin and shows the complex stratigraphic structure. Various areas of activities, evacuation structures, storage areas with mammoth bones are discovered. Some elements of the lower archaeological layer are perfectly correlated with different episodes of sporadic occupation.
