Introduction Complex repetitive discharges (CRDs) are thought to result from depolarization of a single denervated muscle fiber, followed by ephaptic spread to adjacent fibers. This leads to cyclic ...spread of the depolarization to produce a recurrent discharge. Another explanation is suggested. Methods CRDs were recorded with single and multiple electromyographic needles longitudinal to muscle fibers in 39 neuropathy patients. Results The mean frequency of CRDs was 26Hz, mean number of negative spikes was 5.4, and blocking of spikes occurred in 53% of CRDs. In multi-needle recordings most CRDs were local, but propagation of the discharge was sometimes observed. Conclusions The prevailing hypothesis of CRDs cannot explain local CRDs. Type II afferents of bag2 and chain fibers branch widely in the juxtaequatorial region of muscle spindles where they may intermingle with motor terminals. Ephaptic transmission from type II afferents to static gamma and beta efferents may cause CRDs and fix the CRD frequency. Muscle Nerve 53: 508-512, 2016
The main purpose of the study is to check whether natural resource rent affects the financial development or supporting the resource curse hypothesis by employing a recently developed estimation ...technique by Chudik and Pesaran (2015) from 1985 to 2017 in GCC member countries. The novelty of this methodology is to consider structural breaks and the heterogeneity issues that are common in panel data. The results of DCCE estimates are in support of the resource hypothesis that natural resource rent hurt financial development. Additionally, this study takes moderation of institutional quality to check the threshold point or turning point where the natural resource rent effect becomes positive. Our results of interaction term postulate that a higher level of institutional quality mitigates the adverse effect of natural resource rent on financial development. The study results recommend the policy of natural resource rent in the presence of high institutional quality should continue because it improves the financial development in GCC member countries.

Background: In the 90s, Inamura et al. have drawn our attention to the role played by the postural system in the return venous circulation, thanks to plethysmographic recordings which gave free rein ...to the imagination of the authors to suppose the functioning mechanisms of this venous pump. In 2010, two anatomists, Uhl & Gillot, transformed our representation of the venous network and made assumptions about the functioning of the venous pump. Objective/ Methods: The aim of this work is to verify these hypotheses by scanning the venous blood flow at the level of the sinus soleus and the popliteal vein during various posture-kinetic situations. Conclusion: These studies fully confirm the hypotheses. It is therefore likely that the postural system intervenes not only in the phenomena of stabilisation of the body, but also in the back venous circulation.
How to locate denominative and metonymical uses of proper names with respect to their referential use and to commons nouns?– cases of nominal coordination.
This article aims at examining denominative use of proper names (e.g. Alfred in « There are three Alfreds in this class. ») and their metonymical use (e.g. Rodin in « Paul bought a Rodin. ») in order to verify the following hypotheses advanced by some recent studies: A) both of the two uses are derived from the ordinary referential use (e.g. Paul in the previous example) and, although bearing a certain ‘predicativity’ similar to common nouns, they should be distinguished from the latter; B) the derivation of the two uses is based on different principles. Thus, the metonymical use is construed through ‘deferred interpretation’ of the referential use, while the denominative one is established by means of ‘category change’. It is shown that these hypotheses are supported i) by six tests provided by a series of studies of Georges Kleiber who advocates a fondamental semantic difference between proper names and common nouns, as well as ii) by five tests proposed here in terms of intersective or non-intersective coordination including one or two proper name(s). The tests in terms of the coordination further allow us to locate metonymical proper names in a position nearer to common nouns than denominative ones.
Helge von Koch proved in 1901 that the Riemann hypothesis is equivalent to the error term between the prime counting function and the logarithm integral having a bound lower than xlnx multiplied by a ...constant. An explicit value of this constant was found by Schoenfeld in 1976. We refine the work of Schoenfeld to find a bound for the kthprime number and find slightly more sharper bounds for sums and products over primes.
