Increasing regulatory obligations to adapt and execute environmentally friendly operations make it critical for businesses to pursue strategies that can strengthen their competitive edge in the ...market. Academics and practitioners alike have recently gravitated toward exploring how knowledge acquisition activities might improve business outcomes. To address this growing research interest, this study investigates the critical roles of green knowledge acquisition in enhancing green knowledge management and green technology innovation activities in improving corporate environmental performance, positioning resource commitment as a moderator. The research model has been assessed using structural equation modeling with survey data from 283 Indian manufacturers, demonstrating that green knowledge acquisition significantly impacts green knowledge management and green technology innovation. The statistical findings also show that green technology innovation acts catalyzes the translation of green knowledge management into improved corporate environmental performance. The results demonstrate that resource commitment moderates green knowledge acquisition's interaction with green knowledge management and green technology innovation, providing practical insights enabling managers to focus on planning, allocating, and budgeting resources for effective green practices that can contribute to improving corporate environmental performance.
Building upon the knowledge-based view (KBV) and using data from 379 high-tech companies in China, we examine the underlying, mediating mechanisms in the relationship between knowledge absorptive ...capacity and firms' innovation performance. We find that there are positive relationships between four dimensions of knowledge absorptive capacity (i.e., knowledge acquisition, knowledge assimilation, knowledge transformation, and knowledge exploitation) and firms' innovation performance. Additionally, we discover that both firms' knowledge transformation capacity and knowledge exploitation capacity mediate the relationship between knowledge acquisition and firms' innovation performance, as well as between knowledge assimilation and firms' innovation performance. Our results shed light on knowledge absorptive capacity research and knowledge management theory by theoretically and empirically demonstrating how knowledge absorptive capacity affects firms' innovation outputs from a multi-mediating perspective.
In 2022, the “Vécu et ressenti en matière de sécurité” (Experiences and feelings about safety) victimisation survey (107,000 respondents during phase 1, almost 80% of which responded online) designed ...by the Ministerial Statistical Department for Internal Security (SSMSI) took the place of the “Cadre de vie et sécurité” (Living environment and security) survey, which was conducted annually by INSEE between 2007 and 2021. This new mixed-mode survey, carried out on a large sample of the general population, is the result of a major overhaul that has been under way at the SSMSI since 2019 and which has involved INSEE and all of the national stakeholders with an interest in security. In order for this project to succeed, a thorough review was needed of the existing situation, together with the development and evaluation of an innovative and ambitious protocol in the context of the development of a fast-growing mixed-mode survey and the hosting and management of a consultation within a multidisciplinary committee. The objective of this article is to present, in five acts, the main lines of the project that led to the design of the new survey. This first edition thus marks the beginning of a long-term process that will require future methodological developments which will help to consolidate the knowledge and practices acquired through the switch to a mixed-mode approach for surveys conducted among the general population.
This article is dedicated to consideration of legal framework for financing scientific projects of Megascience class in the territory of the Russian Federation in terms of "PIK" reactor and NICA ...collider. These projects intend new breakthrough research practice aimed at acquiring knowledge important for development of the whole humanity. Successful accomplishment of these projects integrally depends on financing, its sufficiency and promptness. As far as projects of megascience class are first of all aimed at receipt of fundamental knowledge, the leading role for financing is played by public funds contributed in Russia in the framework of state programs. Furthermore it is possible to attract extra-budgetary funds from different sources. It is defined that global character of research practice determines engagement of foreign financing inclusively. Therefore, today megascience projects are accomplished basing on the principle of financing sources multiplicity.
PurposeThe purpose of this study is to assess if the mediating effect of green innovation capability (GIC) in the relationship between green market orientation (GMO) and new product success (NPS) was ...conditional on the moderating effects of green knowledge acquisition (GKA) and green brand positioning (GBP).Design/methodology/approachThe analysis was based on primary data gathered using a structured questionnaire, which was developed on a five-point Likert scale of 1-Strongly disagree to 5-Strongly agree. There were 259 manufacturing firms engaged in the study, with data analyzed using PROCESS macro (v.3.4) for SPSS (v.23).FindingsThe research revealed that GMO had no direct effect on NPS among manufacturing firms, the relationship was rather mediated by GIC of the firms. The effect of GMO on GIC was moderated by GKA, whereas the effect of GIC on NPS was moderated by GBP. Overall, the mediating effect of GIC in the relationship between GMO and NPS was conditional on the moderating effects of GKA and GBP.Research limitations/implicationsThe study focused on only knowledge acquisition (green), without recourse to assimilation, transformation and exploitation. These may, however, be very important in explaining the role of knowledge in green innovation.Practical implicationsGreen market-oriented manufacturing firms must seek to also make investments in GIC to transform those concepts into successful innovative products.Originality/valueDespite the increasing number of studies on GMO, very limited concentration has been paid to how firms could leverage on the potentials of GMO to enhance the success of new products introduced into the market. This study did not just establish the effect of GMO on the success of new products but also identified some intervening variables in this relationship.

Mobile internet applications on smart phones dominate large portions of daily life for many people. Conventional machine learning-based knowledge acquisition methods collect users’ data in a ...centralized server, then train an intelligent model, such as recommendation and prediction, using all the collected data. This knowledge acquisition method raises serious privacy concerns, and also violates the rules of the newly published General Data Protection Regulation. This paper proposes a new attention-augmented federated learning framework that can conduct decentralized knowledge acquisition for mobile Internet application scenarios, such as mobile keyboard suggestions. In particular, the attention mechanism aggregates the decentralized knowledge which has been acquired from each mobile using its own data locally. The centralized server aggregates knowledge without direct access to personal data. Experiments on three real-world datasets demonstrate that the proposed framework performs better than other baseline methods in terms of perplexity and communication cost.
The study examines the relationships between knowledge acquisition from social media, two forms of market orientation (proactive and reactive), social media strategic capability, and brand innovation ...strategy in the context of China's online technology industry. Analysis of 357 online technology ventures, created during the past 6years, suggests that brand innovation is affected by both knowledge acquisition from social media and market orientation. Social media strategic capability positively affects brand innovation and acts as a moderator between knowledge acquisition, market orientation, and brand innovation. It further enhances both types of market orientations in achieving brand innovation, suggesting that on social media, customer's needs, both expressed and latent (or unexpressed), can be identified more comprehensively than that of the traditional setting. Hence, the context of social media provides a different set of rules for competition and strategic behavior, in which online technology ventures should note. Implications are useful to improve the current understanding of social media brand innovation strategy, here in China's dynamic social media scene.

Human knowledge provides a formal understanding of the world. Knowledge graphs that represent structural relations between entities have become an increasingly popular research direction toward ...cognition and human-level intelligence. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive review of the knowledge graph covering overall research topics about: 1) knowledge graph representation learning; 2) knowledge acquisition and completion; 3) temporal knowledge graph; and 4) knowledge-aware applications and summarize recent breakthroughs and perspective directions to facilitate future research. We propose a full-view categorization and new taxonomies on these topics. Knowledge graph embedding is organized from four aspects of representation space, scoring function, encoding models, and auxiliary information. For knowledge acquisition, especially knowledge graph completion, embedding methods, path inference, and logical rule reasoning are reviewed. We further explore several emerging topics, including metarelational learning, commonsense reasoning, and temporal knowledge graphs. To facilitate future research on knowledge graphs, we also provide a curated collection of data sets and open-source libraries on different tasks. In the end, we have a thorough outlook on several promising research directions.
