This research aim to finds out types and the most dominant of lexical cohesion used in the song lyrics The Greatest Showman movie soundtrack album. The methodology of this research is descriptive ...quantitative method. The objects of this research are 5 song lyrics in The Greatest Showman movie soundtrack album namely “A Million Dreams, Never Enough, This Is Me, The Other Side and Rewrite The Stars. The data were collected by using observation sheet and table checklist. The collected data were analyzed by using statistical formula. The result of this research showed that:1. All types of lexical cohesion namely repetition, synonym, superordinate, general words and collocation were found in the song lyrics The Greatest Showman movie soundtrack album. 2. The most dominant type of lexical cohesion is Repetition. It was concluded that repetition occurred dominantly because the composer or writer want to tell the reader and listener that the focus of discourse is in the words which have been repeated to emphasize certain meanings in order to attract attention listeners and to enhance beauty in songs.
Discourse studies on the Russia-Ukraine conflict have been conducted in the past few years, especially in newspapers. Comparative studies on the media in several countries have been widely carried ...out; however, none so far focused on comparing Arabic and English newspapers. Thus, this article aimed to examine the lexical cohesion of Arabic and English newspapers to identify each newspaper’s tendency to represent the conflict. Aljazeera and The Guardian newspaper were designated as subjects of the study, in which five opinions published in March 2022 by each newspaper were purposively selected as data sources. Data was collected through internet archival documentation techniques and analysed by referring to the lexical cohesion theory framework proposed by Halliday and Matthiessen (2013). The results showed that repetition was the dominant cohesive device used in Aljazeera, whereas repetition and collocation were the most used lexical cohesion devices in The Guardian. The use of these lexical cohesion devices showed that Aljazeera took a neutral position in representing conflicts and actors. On the other hand, The Guardian tended to side with Ukraine while framing Russia and Putin negatively. Differences in these tendencies were due to the differences in interests. Aljazeera could stay impartial because Qatar had no political interests in the conflict. By contrast, The Guardian was positioning itself against Russia and Putin because Britain had economic and geopolitical interests in the conflict.

The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. This method is a research method that seeks to describe objects according to their actual circumstances. There are five stages in this study, namely the stages of reading newspaper texts, coding the data in accordance with the theory, identifying, clarifying, and concluding and presenting data. The data of this study is a collection of the October 2019 edition of the Solopos rubric soccer newspaper. The results of this study indicate that of the six types of lexical cohesion that are often found in Solopos newspapers are repetition or iteration
This research studied the use of reiteration in che ollection of poems Priangan Si Jelita. The object of this research is reiteration which consist of repetition, synonymy, metonymy, and hyponymy. ...This research used both theoretical and methodological approaches. The former was discourse analysis whereas the latter was qualitative-descriptive approach. The result of analysis shows that the strength and beauty of the forms and meanings of the poems in Priangan Si Jelita are mostly built by the lexical cohesive elements within, particularly reiteration covering repetition, synonymy, metonymy, and hyponymy. The most dominant reiteration in the poems is repetition. This research has an implication toward Indonesian language learning for class IX students of junior high school in the material of paraphrasing poems in accordance with the structure and principles of texts in written form
