Preliminarily, it was found that there are some problems faced by teachers in teaching and learning process. The problems are the teachers still implement classical rather than cooperative learning. ...Moreover, it is hard for them to make students active in the classroom, especially in asking questions and delivering ideas or opinions. Furthermore, it is also hard for them to develop students' curiosity in learning process. To overcome these problems, one solution which can be used is implementation of example non example method. The purpose of the research was to know the effect of example non example method on students' competence. It was a quasi experimental research. It was done in SMPN 18 Padang to VII grade students. Purposive sampling technique was used to take samples. The data were obteined through observation sheets for psychomotor competence. The technique of data analysis used Mann-Whitney U-Test in assistance of SPSS software. The findings show that the example non example method has significant effect on students' psychomotor competence.
One of the obstacles faced in school is the low motoric skills of students in recycling waste meanwhile the motoric skills are one of the learning outcomes that must be developed. The purpose of this ...research was to improve students' motoric skills in recycling plastic waste. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in three cycles. The subjects in this research were 34 students of 7th grade. The data was collected by using observation method in which the skill indicators instrument utilized was adopted from Arikunto. The research was conducted in March 2018. The results showed that there was an increasing trend of students’ motoric skills in each cycle. On the other words, the demonstration method can improve students’ motoric skills in recycling plastic waste.
Background Subtle abnormalities in children's intelligence, motor skills, and psychology from various assisted reproductive treatments (ARTs) might be underdiagnosed. Understanding the prognosis of ...intelligence, motor skills, and psychology in children from ART would provide parents with reasonable expectations and enable them to plan relevant support to achieve the optimum potential in ART children. Methods We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Ovid, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases until April 13, 2021, to identify relevant studies. Thirty-four studies met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The meta-analysis employed a standardized mean difference model. The outcome of this study is to compare intelligence quotient (IQ), motoric ability, and behavioral problems between all ARTs, in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) to naturally conceived (NC) children. Subdomains of intelligence based on the Cattell, Horn, and Carroll Model (CHC Model) of cognitive architecture, including fluid reasoning, short-term and working memory, processing speed, visual-spatial ability, long-term memory retrieval, and crystalized intelligence (knowledge), were evaluated and summarized in details. Motor skill was stratified into two domains: gross motoric and fine motoric. Behavioral problem was categorized as externalizing and internalizing behavior. Results Meta-analysis showed that verbal intelligence score in IVF toddlers is significantly lower than NC toddlers (p = 0.02); conversely, ICSI toddlers scored significantly higher verbal intelligence score compared to NC toddlers (p = 0.005). Toddlers born after ART had significantly lower non-verbal intelligence score (p = 0.047). IVF toddlers scored significantly lower fine motor score (p = 0.01) compared to naturally conceived toddlers. Based on parent's CBCL, NC toddlers had higher total (p = 0.01) and externalizing behavior (p = 0.001) scores compared to ART toddlers. Evaluation of full scale IQ and all domains of intelligence in preschool and primary school children revealed that no significant differences exist between ART and NC children. Based on preschool and primary school parents' CBCL, IVF children had significantly lower externalizing behavior score compared to NC children (p = 0.04). Meta-analyses of studies on young adolescents revealed that ART young adolescents scored higher academically than their NC counterparts, including on mathematics (p < 0.00001) and reading or language (p < 0.00001). Conclusions Despite differences in certain aspects, this finding suggests that ART is unlikely to cause negative impacts on children's neurodevelopment. Children and adolescents with congenital heart disease (CHD) should be encouraged to adopt a physically active lifestyle, ideally by participating in sports activities at school and sports clubs. ...Children with complex CHD or other risk factors (for example, pacemakers, cardioverter-defibrillators, channelopathies) may, however, need specific individualized training programs. This review article summarizes the current knowledge regarding the clinical effects of sports and exercise training on CHD and its pathophysiologic mechanisms. An evidence-based approach based on a literature search, using PubMed, Medline, CINHAL, Embase, and the Cochrane Library was conducted, last completed on 30 December 2021. In studies with 3256 CHD patients in total, including 10 randomized controlled trials, 14 prospective interventional trials, 9 observational trials, and 2 surveys, exercise training has been shown to improve exercise capacity and physical activity, motoric skills, muscular function, and quality of life. Sports and exercise training appears to be effective and safe in CHD patients. Despite being cost-efficient, training programs are currently scarcely reimbursed; therefore, support from healthcare institutions, commissioners of healthcare, and research-funding institutions is desirable. There is a strong need to establish specialized rehabilitation programs for complex CHD patients to enhance these patients' access to this treatment intervention. Further studies may be desirable to confirm these data to investigate the impact on risk profiles and to identify the most advantageous training methodology and underlying pathophysiological mechanisms.
The aim of the study was evaluation of quality of life according to the level of physical activity between two groups of wheelchair basketball players. We included 34 individuals divided into the ...two groups according to the level of physical activity during the week. Individuals in the first group had trainings two times per week (16 individuals) and in the second group had trainings three to six times per week (18 individuals). Differences between these two groups were measured in quality of life and level of physical activity. Results of discriminative analysis have shown that there is statistically significant difference in quality of life, and results of Student t-test have shown that there is also statistically significant difference in level of physical activity as well as total quality of life. Individuals, who were active three to six times per week according to the schedule, had better results in all variables of the quality of life.
The emergence of animated video media is becoming an open space for teachers to enhance the quality of learning in primary schools. The use of this animated video media provides a great effect on the ...learning success of dance class. This study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study showed that learning outcomes, both knowledge and motoric skills, improved after the implementation of animated video media. Animated video in this study has several characteristics, they are (a) the video media is in line with the 2013 Curriculum, (b) the video media contains appreciation activities, (c) the video media is based on student characteristics, (d) the video media contains the concept of meaning, definition, substance, and core, (e) the video media consists of materials for explaining dance moves, (f) the video media provides examples of moves for each step, and a series of dance moves, (g) the video media comprises clear and complete information, (h) the media is easy to use, (i) the video media has clear pictures and easy to remember, (j) the video media is equipped with interesting design, clear setting of menu and other components.
Being a new player in a multiplayer game is not an easy experience. If the game requires coordinated team play for success, an inexperienced player can receive a high amount of abuse because of what ...others view as bad plays. While the companies try to alleviate this problem by focusing on the offenders, we present another approach that can also help in decreasing toxic behavior. In our paper we introduce the first steps at researching what it requires to perform well in any given role in a popular multi player game, League of Legends. Using focus groups and online questionnaires we narrow down the list of abilities to 6, in which different profiles would predict different most successful playstyles. Based on these ability profiles the game itself should give more customized tutorial sessions and recommendations to new players who in turn will have an overall improved first impression. Through having better performance, we believe, that some of the toxic behavior experienced by new players can be extinguished.
