Abstract
At present, VR technology has been widely used in R&D and manufacturing of product design projects because of its many advantages. How to further improve the application effect of VR ...technology in product design practice projects has become one of the research hotspots in the design field in recent years. Based on this, this paper explores the application of VR technology in product design. Firstly, it introduces the basic situation of VR technology. Then, taking the design of leisure and entertainment products in public facilities as an example, it discusses the basic application process of VR technology. Finally, it looks forward to the future development of VR technology based on the shortcomings of VR technology in product design.
We present results on the nucleon axial and induced pseudoscalar form factors using an ensemble of two degenerate twisted mass clover-improved fermions with mass yielding a pion mass of mπ=130 MeV. ...We evaluate the isovector and the isoscalar, as well as the strange and the charm axial form factors. The disconnected contributions are evaluated using recently developed methods that include deflation of the lower eigenstates, allowing us to extract the isoscalar, strange, and charm axial form factors. We find that the disconnected quark loop contributions are nonzero and particularly large for the induced pseudoscalar form factor.
The circular economy (CE) aims at cycling products and materials in closed technical and biological loops. Cradle to cradle (C2C) operationalizes the CE with a product design concept rooted in the ...circulation of “healthy” materials because contamination of materials with substances of concern hampers cycling and may pose risks to people in contact with them. Extant research shows that barriers often hinder organizations from successfully pursuing cradle‐to‐cradle product innovation (CPI). Innovation community theory helps to explain how to overcome barriers and further the innovation process by taking a microlevel perspective on intra‐ and interorganizational collaboration of individual promotors (or champions). We elaborate innovation community theory with a longitudinal embedded case study of a C2C frontrunner company with the goal to get a precise understanding of how promotors collaborate in the CPI process. Our contribution is threefold: We identify eight collaboration mechanisms used between promotors to sequentially overcome a hub firm's individual, organizational, value chain, and institutional level barriers to circularity. Second, we differentiate these mechanisms according to their cooperative and coordinative facets and put emphasis on the coordinative functions of those mechanisms linked to the C2C standard. Third, we highlight the importance of promotors at the linking level who facilitate the CPI process as intermediaries.
The product design project is a complex problem because objectives and constraints must be considered simultaneously, the sustainability context is highly relevant and specific, decision‐making ...involves not only customer needs but also of other stakeholders, especially the organization in which the design project takes place. This work presents a systematic literature review of design methodologies for chemical products to identify how that problem has been addressed and which are the future challenges to be met. The review involved the analysis of 262 research papers and 336 patents, classified according to the chemical product type, the design phase studied, and whether they consider association with a business context. The study highlights the need for holistic product design methodologies applicable from the early design stages, covering the assessment of customer needs and the requirements of other stakeholders, as well as the business context where the design process is carried out.
•Overview of property prediction models.•A comprehensive review of computer aided molecular design tools.•Challenges and opportunities in computer aided molecular design.•Current and future research ...direction.
In this paper, the significant development, current challenges and future opportunities in the field of chemical product design using computer-aided molecular design (CAMD) tools are highlighted. With the gaining of focus on the design of novel and improved chemical products, the traditional heuristic based approaches may not be effective in designing optimal products. This leads to the vast development and application of CAMD tools, which are methods that combine property prediction models with computer-assisted search in the design of various chemical products. The introduction and development of different classes of property prediction methods in the overall product design process is discussed. The exploration and application of CAMD tools in numerous single component product designs, mixture design, and later in the integrated process-product design are reviewed in this paper. Difficulties and possible future extension of CAMD are then discussed in detail. The highlighted challenges and opportunities are mainly about the needs for exploration and development of property models, suitable design scale and computational effort as well as sustainable chemical product design framework. In order to produce a chemical product in a sustainable way, the role of each level in a chemical product design enterprise hierarchy is discussed. In addition to process parameters and product quality, environment, health and safety performance are required to be considered in shaping a sustainable chemical product design framework. On top of these, recent developments and opportunities in the design of ionic liquids using molecular design techniques have been discussed.
In recent years, with the idea of carrying forward traditional culture gradually gaining popularity, people pay more attention to the traditional creation wisdom contained in traditional artifacts, ...and on this basis, actively explore more innovative design methods, so as to realize the organic combination of traditional creation wisdom and intelligent era, so that traditional creation wisdom can be better inherited and carried forward. Based on this, this paper discusses the traditional creation wisdom, combines the development and improvement of modern times, takes the design of artistic furniture as a case, the paper analyzes how to combine and innovate the traditional creation wisdom in the product design under the current intelligent era by the combination of traditional creation wisdom and the emerging “Unity 3D” technology, in order to better inherit and carry forward the traditional creation wisdom.
This paper aims to investigate the scientific integration of data science with product design towards data-driven design (D3). Data science has potential to facilitate design decision-making through ...insight extraction, predictive analytics, and automatic decisions. A systematic scoping review is conduced to converge various D3 applications in four dimensions: the design dimension about design operations, the data dimension about popular data sources and common data-related challenges, the method dimension about the methodological foundations, and the social/ethical dimension about social/ethical considerations and implications. Based on the state-of-the-art, this paper also highlights potential future research avenues in this dynamic field
We calculate the four-loop massless QCD corrections with two closed quark lines to quark and gluon form factors. The results for the gluon form factor and the singlet part of the quark form factor ...are given for the first time. From our analytic expressions for the form factors, we determine the corresponding cusp anomalous dimensions. The relevant Feynman integrals are obtained with novel integral reduction techniques and direct integration methods.
