Research on attention in sport using eye-tracking methodology has highlighted that the highest levels of expertise and performance are characterized by a specific gaze behavior consisting of a ...perception-action variable named quiet eye. The present study aimed to understand the role of quiet eye during the three-point shot, especially in game conditions in which even a single point may determine victory or defeat. Twenty-one basketball players (twelve competitive elites and nine semi-elites) with a high-shooting style performed three-point shots in four game scenarios different from each other for the time available (time pressure) and the relevance of the score (performance pressure). The results showed that competitive elites performed a longer quiet eye online duration and a shorter QE preprogramming duration than semi-elites, especially in the highest-pressure condition. On the one hand, these results suggest that quiet eye during three-point shots could fulfill an online control function. On the other hand, the findings stressed the importance of implementing experimental conditions that can resemble as closely as possible actual sport situations. Finally, we suggest that sport professionals interested in administering to athletes a quiet eye training protocol in order to improve three-point shot performance consider the shooting style of the players.
This paper uses three-dimensional video to analyze the three-point shooting movements of several basketball players, and establishes the relationship between the shooting angle, the shooting angle ...and the height of the parabola formed by the running trajectory of the three-point shooting. Established a database of three-point shooting angle, entry angle, and height of parabola, and developed three-point shooting training software, which has a basis and great help for basketball players' three-point shooting scientific training, which can greatly improve the hit rate.
The purpose of this study was clarify characteristic of “T-style shooting” (TS) applied to the long shot of basketball through a movement analysis. Comparing with the ordinal style (OS) of it, the ...investigation revealed the following regarding TS : (1) The success rate at the 9.25m point was higher, but not different at 8.25m. (2) The movement time was significantly shorter (p<0.05). (3) The average values of the projecting angle and the initial velocity of the ball were higher (p<0.05). (4) The shift of the body's center of gravity (BCG) during catching and releasing the ball was larger (p<0.05). (5) The speed of shifting BCG for the vertical direction when the ball was released was faster (p<0.05). (6) The time between the movements the ball was released and BCG reached the highest position was longer (p<0.05). That is, it was observed that in TS the ball was released at a moment while BCG was moving up fast before reaching the top. Other features observed in TS were (7) a reaction movement to move the ball front to backward was observed immediately before setting, (8) the EMG during TS was different from OS. Conclusively, it is clear that TS is a shooting technique to efficiently use reaction movement of the four limbs and the characteristic of muscle power output.
With the popularity of basketball, the tense, fierce atmosphere and more aggressive defense in basketball games have caused the shooting percentage to be greatly reduced. According to research, there ...are two key shooting models that affect the shooting rate. Starting from the shooting angle of the ball when shooting, the shooting speed, the horizontal distance between the center of the basketball and the center of the basket, as well as the relationship between the basketball incident angle, various factors are analyzed. The author analyzed impact on the shooting percentage, and made appropriate assumptions, in the case of a reasonable estimate of the distance between the shooting point and the center of the basket and maintaining a stable shooting speed, determined the best shooting angle and best shooting speed for shooting, and obtained a capable. Through this paper, it can be concluded that the shooting angle can improve the shooting rate without using too much physical energy when shooting. In addition, it is hoped that the model can be applied to other fields in the future.
