  • Skáclov sonet in štirivrstičnica v slovenskem prevodu
    Lipovec, Albinca ; Pretnar, Tone
Established poetic forms, such as the sonnet and four-lined poem, characterize Skácel's poetry, especially in his second creative period; the motivation for this can be found in his going beyond "the ... time of non-memory" and cultivating a poetic voice with both a folk and artistic, particulary romantic tradition. The form has absorbed new realizations, has maintained itself, because it has attained indenpendence as a lyrical miniature (this holds true for the quatrain, w[h]ich approaches Chinese gnomic folk poetry, and for some sonnets, which imitate established poetic form in their composition as well), or has disintegrarated, sometimes even to the point of being unrecognisable (this is true Skácel's most radical sonnets). In translated literature, the two forms under consideration have experianced a similar fate in more recent times, so that the translator, in giving an exact rendering of the message and form, writes texts which are not alien to his own literature, but neverless different, since they introduce into the permanent form new individual and regional expressions, images, rhytms, understanding and meanings.
