New multidisciplinary approach to integrate cycling into the urban landscape

The new multidisciplinary approach brings different view on planning of cycling infrastructure, since rather than physical infrastructure characteristics, humans are placed at the forefront of its ...design as the most important measure of its quality, since the assessment criteria equally include the criteria of sensing and perceiving of space. To create good bicycle traffic conditions, the most important is to find an optimal balance between the space's form and its image. All theoretical findings have been tested on the pilot case of urban and extra-urban cycling networks integration in the Slovenian coastal area.
