  • Galactoglucomannan from softwood - the study of textile applications [Elektronski vir]
    Doliška, Aleš ...
The galactoglucomannans (GGM) from softwood are byproduct in the pulp and paper industry and are not yet efficiently reused. There were some successful approaches of reuse of galactoglucomannan (GGM) ... in paper production, as GGM treatment of pulp fibres increased tear strength as well as water retention value of paper sheets [1]. Some other applications are in the phase of active research [2]. The aim of this research was to find out possibility of use GGM in textile applications and which effects have the conventional treatments of textiles with GGM solutions on their properties. Viscose fibres, fabrics and nonwovens as well as PET fabrics were applied as substrates. The influences of GGM treatment on the textiles application properties were rather small. The further investigations of use chemicaly modified GGM in medical application is under examination.
