Surface free energy of conventional and oxygen plasma pre-treated regenerated cellulose fabrics [Elektronski vir]

The aim of this research work was to evaluate the advantages of oxygen plasma fabric treatment against alternative standard chemical pre-treatment procedures. The surface properties of both fabrics ...were evaluated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Moreover, hydrophilic/hydrophobic character was determined according to the Powder Contact Angle method. In addition, the polar and disperse components of the samples free energy were estimated using the Owens-Wendt mathematical approach, and compared to the surface chemical composition obtained by XPS.
