This paper deals with arrangement of 400 kV overhead power line conductors determined by optimization. The position of each conductor depends on different conditions considered in the objective ...function. The conditions thatmust be fulfilled are the values of magnetic and electric fields on the border of the overhead power line right of way, clearances between conductors,clearances between conductors and shielding wire and clearance between the lowest conductor and ground at the highest conductor sagging point. The optimization aim is to find that arrangement of the conductors where all conditions are fulfilled at minimal height of towers. The clearancesbetween conductors and clearances between conductors and shielding wire are in the optimization process chosen in such a way that comply the requirements of insulation coordination. The optimization can be preformed considering actual conductor sagging or by approximations with straight conductors placed in the point of maximal sagging. Individual parts of the tower and need for symmetrical positions of conductors are not considered in optimization process.
