  • Arrangements of overhead power line conductors determined by differential evolution [Elektronski vir]
Deželak, Klemen ; Štumberger, Gorazd ; Jakl, Franc
This paper deals with the optimal arrangement of 400 kV overhead power line conductors. Calculations performed for existing 400 kV overhead power lines in Slovenia show that emissions of electric and ... magnetic field on the border of the overhead power line right of way could be too high. Motivated by this fact, the proposed paper represents an attempt to minimize emissions of electric and magnetic fields, caused by the 400 kV overhead power line, by an appropriate arrangement of conductors. In the given case, the optimization goal is to find that arrangement of conductors where the tower height is minimal, while the values of the magnetic and electric fields on the border of the overhead power line right of way are under prescribed limits. Only those arrangements of power line conductors, where the clearances between conductors, the clearances between the conductors and the overhead ground wire, and the clearance between the lowest conductor and the ground in the point of the highest conductor sagging comply with the requirements of insulation coordination, are considered as possible solutions of the optimization problem.
