Slovenia's changed geographical - economical position in comparison with neighbouring countries after 1991

Slovenia is to be found on a key development crossing, moving from an industrial to post industrial society. In this turning point period of transition and crossing to a market economy the process ...for Slovenia's membership in the European Union is on going. With the admission on new members from Central and Eastern Europe into the European Union Slovenia's competitiveness on a joint European market is of great significance. Comparable economic development indicators with neighbouring countries after 1991 show the disadvantages and advantages of the Slovene economy that will represent the foundation for European regional integration. Structural changes of the Slovene economy have an affect on transformation of geographical space and create a new social-economic gravitational region.
