  • Vpliv transkodiranja na kakovost storitve IVR = Influence of transcoding on quality of IVR service

In transportation of voice signal in modern digital networks, voice might be transcoded from one audio codec format to another between the end-points. Hence, the original signal is degraded due to ... different lossy algorithms used by different codecs. Newly occurred impairments can have noticeable impact on overall quality of received voice signal. Especially, if the end point is machine-interface system like IVR, it can be of benefit to have a prediction model, which estimates QoS for IVRćs input modalities. For assigning quality of speech, mean opinion score (MOS) was applied. Testbed, introduced in this paper, contains a model of IVR service supported by automatic speech recognition system (ASR). If quality of voice is not sufficient, IVR should prompt user to interact with more robust input modality (like DTMF tones), otherwise ASR is used. In this paper we proposed scheme for a prediction model, on which it is possible to estimate accuracy of speech recognition system based on measured MOS with PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) algorithm.
