  • Expectations in prospective training of classroom teachers in light of art education

    In the school year 2009/10 all three Pedagogical Faculties in Slovenia (Maribor, Ljubljana and Koper) will start educating classroom teachers according to a new program which is compliant with the ... Bologna Declaration. The planning of restructered programmes is a result of the idea that pedagogical professions are in fact academic professions. They therefore require : interdisciplinary academic education and qualifications needed to creatively engage in complex problems in education and schooling processes, This discussion will try to outline the classroom teacher figure with regard to some of the key competenees. Among these we have to distinguish between those competences that are common to different subjects and those that are essential in the specific area of teaching art.
