The article presents the basic emphasis of the research project, which presents the first comprehensive socially-critical historical linguistic analysis of the 20th century, which has barely ended, ...as a socially, politically and economically epochal time for Slovene studies and Slovene language with emphasis placed on studies of the identification role of a language in all its functional and social varieties, and with major distinctions only between literary and non-literary and standard and non-standard language varieties.
