  • Sinteza submikronskega prahu in priprave polprevodne keramike na osnovi dopiranega BaTiO3 : magistrsko delo

    Precursors of Ba(CH3COO)2, Ba(OH)2 and Ti(OC2H5)4 with different alkaline media (NH4OH, N2H5OH, (CH3)4NOH) were used to prepare nanosized BaTiO3 powders. Powders prepared with Ba(CH3COO)2, ... Ti(OC2H5)4, and (CH3)4NOH precursors exhibited the smallest average grain size. However, a relatively large amount of organic disintegration products which delay the sintering process were identified in the powder after the hydrothermal processing. The hydrothermal syntesis was optimized in order to improve the sinterability of the powder. We characterzed the powder with SEM, XGD, TGA, mass spectroscopy and dilatometry. In order to study the positive temperature coefficient of resistance behavior of semiconducting BaTiO3, a series of La doped samples (x% = 0,2, 0,3, 0,4, 0,5, 0,6, 0,8, 1,0, 1,5) were prepared and the electrical properties of material in dependence of different annealing time in air at 1150°C for 1 h, 3 h and 24 h after sintering in low partial pressure of oxygen, which allow incorporation of higher concentration of donor dopant in lattice of BaTiO3 were investigated. Within this region oxidation of the grain boundaries occured, which resulted in the formation of a potential barrier. The construction of the potential barrier during different reoxidation times in air resulted in a PTCR effect of greater magnitude and with a steeper slope.
