    The process of globalization brings enormous competition and struggle for existence on the market. Manufacturers are forced to implement highly developed and demanding solutions to keep their ... comptitive advantages and position on the market. One of these solutions is Enterprise Modelling which is becoming increasingly important today. The understanding of business processes and relations between different enterprise entities is required. An adequate, consistent and comprehensive description of enterprise entities can only be achieved by using EM. Today EM is widely used for different purposes from development and implementation of different IT systems to re-engineering of business processes. The article presents the basic features and the background of EM, where and how to use it, what are the main advantages and disadvantages of approches to modelling. The article revelas a part of the research project dedicated to the development and implementation of enterprise modelling and project workbench within the ETI Elektroelement d.d. company.
