  • Development of multimedia multilingual teaching and training system for speech handicapped children

    A multimedia multilingual pronounciation teaching and training system is being developed in the framework of an EC INCO-Copernicus program. The aim of the project is to develop an audiovisual ... pronounciation teaching and training method and a software system for hearing- and speech-handicapped persons to help them control their speech production. The system will be developed in English, Hungarian, Swedish and Slovenian language. The system will support teaching and training ranging from individual sound preparation to the practice of sounds in sentences. The paper discusses different issues of the system development, like the reference speaker database design and collection, definition of training tasks and problems of speech visualization.
