The problem of connections and the network thinking : the case of Slovene railways and maintenance shopRosi, Bojan ; Mulej, MatjažSlovene railways (SZ) was created on technological, commercial, and organisational terms in the former Yugoslavia. Both the SZ and their maintenance shops (CD), have an excess capacity, since the ... independence of Slovenia and her effort to join the European Union (EU) as well to meet EU's requirements. Therefore, changes and innovations are required. The authors suggest, as an organisational solution, a shared lean enterprise of SZ and CD. As a methodological solution the authors suggest a combination of "network thinking", "USOMID" and "paperwork simplification". Both support co-operative connections and thus make a cultural innovation happen.Source: Problems of participation and connection : proceedings of a Conference held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 5-9 April, 1999 (Str. 57-68)Type of material - conference contributionPublish date - 2001Language - englishCOBISS.SI-ID - 5635612
