CAD application for hydraulic analysis of hot water and low-pressure gas pipe transmission systems

In the paper the authors present a CAD application HAPN (Hydraulic Analysis of Pipe Networks) designed to calculate flow-pressure conditions in hot water and low pressure gas pipe transmission ...system. The basis of the presented application are numerical modules HAPN/HW (Hydraulic Analysisnof Pipe Network/Hot Water) and HAPN/LPG (Hydraulic Analysis of Pipe Networks/Low Pressure Gas).Because of large extensions of hot water and gas pipe networks The LTM method (Linear Theory Method) and the method of solving the Sparse matrix are used for linearisation and solution of the system of nonlinear equations. Pipe networks of any size can be calculated with this application. Its limitation is only the numercal capacity of PC. The data on the pipe network, consumers, topology, etc., are entered in tabular or graphic form via interfaces integrated in the CAD environment of AutoCAD 12 for KS Windows. Thepaper also discusses the linkong of data and result bases with GIS. The developed SQL communication interface enables on-line installation of the application in the user's information system and communication with almost every GIS.
