  • Influence of the solid-liquid phase transition on the solubility of the substance under the pressure of dense gas [Elektronski vir]

    In order to study the solid-liquid transition occuring along the solubility isotherm and to find out whether the course of the solubility isotherm is changed in this case, the phase behaviour of ... several binary systems was examined: naphtalene, biphenyl, capsaicin in CO2 and vitamins D2, D3, K3 in CO2 and propane. On the basis of the shape of solubility isotherms it may not be possible to discern whether the solid had melted, however the experimental solubility data for systems capsaicin-CO2 and vitamin D2-CO2 deviate from the common course of solubility isotherms. The experimental S-L-V data were correlated using Peng-Robinson equation of state and binary parameters obtained from the best fit were used for solubility calculations.
