Mobile computing in construction [Elektronski vir]

This paper describes the current state of mobile computing, with a special focus on its potential in the field of construction. The main part of the paper describes an experimental reasearch project ...in which certain aspects of the potential of mobile computing were tested on a real road construction site. The assumption was that only cost-efficient, commonly available and standardized mobile computing technology would bring any real change in construction industry, as was the case PCs in the 80-ies. The paper end with adiscussion of future developments, with special emphasis on tha fact that thetechnology push of recent years has not proved beneficial to the construction industry.
