Pročišćavanje otpadnih voda u praonicama rublja pomoću aktivnog ugljena

The protection of surface and underground water, and municipal infrasteucture is closely connected with the "Decree on Mass and Heat Emission at the Removal of Waste Water from the Pollution Source ...and discharge into Surface Water and into the Sewage System". In this research, the waste water from two laundries was analysed. The results of chemical analyses revealed that some parameter values exceeded the ones stated in the "Decree" (UL RS št. 35/86). An attempt was made to find a technological wastewater treatment prodedure that would comply with the Decree. It was decided to treat the wastewater with adsorption on powder-activated carbon (PAC) and granular-actiated carbon (GAC). It was found that adsorption on PAC with preliminary flocculation using aluminium sulphate was sufficient to attain appropriate waste water quality, which can be discharged directly from the laundry into the river using a low water flow. The same treatment is not suitable for a laundry with a high water flow due to high costs. In this case GAS was very successful.
