This paper deals with the characteristics of a saturated Linear Synchronous Reluctance Motor (LSRM). The characteristics of the thrust, friction force and flux linkages are determined experimentally ...by a controlled voltage source inverter (VSI) employing closed loop current control in a d-q reference frame. The obtained characteristics are given in the en tire operating range as functions of the mover position, the direct axis current and the quadrature axis current.
