  • Phase equilibria of vanillins in compressed gas [Elektronski vir]

    In the paper, the solid-liquid phase transitions of vanillins (vanillin, ethylvanillin, o-vanillin, ethyl-o-vanillin) in the presence of compressed CO2, propane, isobutane and fluorinated ... hydrocarbons (R23, R134a, R236fa) were determined. The method used was a modified capillary method. Furthermore, the solubilities of the mentioned substances in dense CO2 were measured at temperatures 40, 60 and 80 °C and over the pressure range of 80 to 300 bar using a static-analytic method. The experimental equilibrium solubility data have been fitted to the Peng-Robinson equation in combination with two parameters Van der Waals mixing rules and binary parameters were determined from the best fit. Results showed that the phase equilibria of vanillins in dense gasses investigated are influenced by the position of the -OH group bound to the atomic ring.
