  • Transport properties in composition dependence of binary and ternary mixtures
Avsec, Jurij ; Naterer, Greg F. ; Oblak, Maks
The paper develops a mathematical model for computing the binary diffusion coefficient, thermal diffusion factor, thermal diffusivity, viscosity and thermal conductivity in the real gas region with ... nonequilibrium statistical mechanics. For the analytical calculation of transport properties we have used models of Kihara and Chapman-Cowling up to the third order. In this paper we calculated the transport properties for mixtures involving carbon monoxide and helium, argon, xenon anf krypton. We have developed new mixing rules for the calculation of transport properties of mixtures. The analytical results obtained by statistical mechanics are compared with experimental data and their relatively good agreement. This paper outlines new developments regarding transport properties for mixtures involving carbon monoxide and inert gases.
