    Sonochemical decoloration and degradation of reactive azo dye C.I. Reactive Black 5 was performed at 279 kHz at three different power outputs (50, 100 and150 W). The decoloration efficiency was ... estimated by the measurement of the absorbance at the maximum wavelength of the dye. The rate of color decay was pseudo first order in the visibleabsorption of the dye. Iodometry was used as a chemical dosimeter for quantitative determination of sonochemically produced oxidizing species. Total organic carbon TOC, pH and conductivity were also followed.
