Impact of tourist demand and costs on the hospitality industry prices in Slovenia [Elektronski vir]

The paper analysis hospitality industry prices in Slovenia in the period from January 2000 toOctober 2012 using monthly seasonally unadjusted time-series data, which are tested byregression analysis ...and vector auto regressive model for long-run equilibrium. The regressionanalysis suggested spurious regression and autocorrelation at least on the first and twelve lags.These findings lead to use cointegration analysis. Prices of short-stay accommodation are notassociated with wages in hospitality industry in the same direction. Prices of short-stayaccommodation are positively associated with foreign tourist overnight stays, but negatively withdomestic tourist overnight stays. Prices of food and beverage service activities are positivelyassociated with wages in hospitality industry and negatively associated with food and beverageprices as input costs.
