An overview of overheating prevention measures in Montenegrin residential buildings based on occupant survey results [Elektronski vir]Pajek, Luka, gradbeništvo ...With rising global temperatures and the increasing frequency of heat waves, addressing overheating in buildings becomes crucial for ensuring occupants' comfort, well-being, and energy efficiency. The ... paper reveals the existing overheating prevention measures implemented in residential buildings across three climate zones in Montenegro. Comprehensive e-surveying was performed to achieve the purpose of the study – the investigation of the prevalence and effectiveness of various overheating mitigation activities and the occupants' thermal comfort perception during the day and night in summer. The survey considered demographic details, building information (building age, building envelope, shading devices, windows type, ventilation systems, etc.), summer thermal comfort information and overheating prevention measures (those already installed/practised in buildings and those that should be added to the building). The presented results focus on three municipa lities, namely Podgorica, Nikšić and Pljevlja, one in each climate zone. The results derived from this survey can serve as a foundation for developing future knowledge about overheating prevention measures in Montenegrin residential buildings. For example, the survey showed that 22 % and 26 % of the respondents in Podgorica (the municipality with the warmest climate) consider thermal comfort unacceptable during the day and night, respectively. Such high discomfort was reported regardless of relatively high rates of overheating prevention measured in Pogorica buildings. These findings confirm the necessity of further research on overheating prevention, particularly considering forthcoming climate change because the period when overheating prevention measures will be required in Montenegro is expected to grow significantly.Vir: Proceedings [Elektronski vir] (Str. 859-866)Vrsta gradiva - prispevek na konferenciLeto - 2024Jezik - angleškiCOBISS.SI-ID - 190957315
