  • Rapid manufacture of digital variometer housing

    Today the company's success at the market depends on its innovative capacity, quality of products and time of entering of product into the market. Therefore, is particular the shorting of the product ... development is one of the key factors influencing the costs and the companyćs revenue and consequently, the company's success on increasingly competitive markets. Modern development of product can nowadays be hardly imagining without virtual 3D CAD models of products. The 3D cad model is a basis for manufacture of prototype and functional product by rapid manufacturing method. The paper presents the manufacture of the digital variometer housing by rapid prototyping. The variometer is an instrument used by the pilots of gliding devices (e.g. gliding parachutists, glider fliers, balloonists etc.) for measuring the speed of going up and down. In our case, we have made a functional housing of the variometer used by gliding parachutists. Researches have shown that the use of rapid prototyping is an adequate approach, since a small number of products are concerned whose manufacture by convectional methods would take a larger time and would require considerably higher costs.
