    Structural Concrete now means altogether the structures and materials forming what in the past were called reinforced, unreinforced and prestressed concrete, as well as all new materials with ... cementitious matrix, representing altogether by far the most popular in building and civil engineering structures worldwide. Todays applications concern not only new constructions but more and more rehabilitation, conservation, strengthening and upgrading, namely seismic, of the existing premises. Requirements cover new aspects, within the frame of sustainability, including environmental friendliness, durability, ability of adaptation and of reuse of works and / or materials. Construction ways keep evolving, availing new working means, ideas, technologies, analytical and experimental tools, assessment criteria, standards for ensuring measurable better focused performances. The material itself has undergone remarkable development, differentiating for specific applications, up to the multiple todays concretes, binders, additives and to the new reinforcements, metallic or composites.
