  • Porazdelitev gostote toka v človeškem telesu z intramedularnim žebljem = Current density distribution inside human body intramedular nail
Valič, Blaž, 1974- ; Miklavčič, Damijan
In a human with conductive implant electromagnetic field is different in comparisonto the human without the implant. We used numerical modeling to evaluate the. change of electromagnetic field ... distribution due to the implant. The geometry of the model is based on images from Visible-HumanData Set. We introducedalso , intramedularnail, used to fix brokencancelous bones,in the model. Because the dispersion of the material properties in the literature, we performed parameterization with respect to the conductivity andr permittivityof the soft tissue and bones. For comparison also modelswithout the implantwere calculated. From the result it can be seen that current density is ~ significant1y increased at the end of intramedular nail, t,: but the region, where significant increase in the current; density is observed, is limited to few cubic centimeters. ; Except in the leg, where intramedular nail is implanted there is no observable difference in current density distribution in the body. The understanding of the change in electromagnetic field distribution inside the human due to the implant is out of the scope for general public but physicians who are implanting such implants or patients receiving them should be informed.
