  • Individual differences in stress [Elektronski vir]

    In the paper the connection between individual differences and stress is discussed. The impact of individual differences, such as individual self-perception and power, locus of control scale, type ... A/B personality profiles, flexibility and rigidity on the relationship between potential stressors and occurrence of stress in an individual is presented. Regarding the individual differences, some individuals are more successful in coping with stressful situations that occurs in the work settings and in their private life while others are more affected with stress. For example, a response to stress is more intensive in people with low self-esteem than in people with higher self-esteem, strong personalities deal with stress more easily than those who cannot be characterized as being strong personalities, people with external locus of control scale feel helpless in stressful situations and experience stress more frequently than those who manage stress with courage and confidence. Differences in the perception and level of stress can be also cultural contingent. Human as an individual is responsible for his health with preventing stress. While anti-stress therapies are different in various region, human have to search it also over the borders. Therefore, among other things, the contribution is offering the komplemental total solutions which can be use both: laity and professionals, employers and employees.
