  • Modelling contact problems including friction and temperature effects

    The paper is concerned with a numerical simulation of a frictional contact boundary problem. An elastic deformable body which is supposed to be in contact with a rigid body undergoes time dependent ... deformation due to unstationary temperature field. The whole solution includes the solution of heat flow problem and the solution of thermal stress problem, both considering appropriate contact boundary conditions. As any contact problem is load history dependent, one reason being the continuous changing of contact region during the application of loading and second reason being the irreversibility of frictional forces, an incremental solution technique, additionally implemented within each load step by an iterative procedure in a way that fulfilment of sliding friction conditions is achieved, is used.
