Development of IT and telecommunication technologies considerably changed conditions in the business environment, because the previously local companiesbecame a part of the global market where a ...fierce competition is present. In such an environment a virtual company with its distributed production units is becoming more and more important Ćtemporary organisation form of companiesĆ because it allows for a fast response on unpredictable market changes, and effective sharing and use of available resources of members of the virtual company. The article will present the method of building a virtual company and the procedure for processing the orders that the company wins on the market. Procedure of orderžproduct development using the principles of project management with concurrent engineering elements willbe presented, as well as the method of forming a virtual company for development and production in distributed production units of the virtual company. Special attention will be paid to computer-aided scheduling of operations, both on the virtual company level and in the distributed production units. The results of computer-aided scheduling of operations will be presented on the virtual company level and in the distributed production units.
