  • Vpliv električne stimulacije na celjenje dekubitalnih razjed in strukturo novonastalega tkiva ( brazgotine ) pri bolnikih s poškodbo hrbtenjače : [magistrska naloga]
    Šavrin, Rajmond
The goal of the present study was to prove a hypothesis that surfaces and depths of wounds subject to electrical stimulation decrease more rapidly than those of conservatively treated control wounds. ... The investigation convered 50 spinal cord injured patients with pressure sores in the sacral area. In 25 patients the wounds received electrical stimulation with biphasic electric current of 40 Hz for 2 hours a day, five times a week, while the wounds in the25 patients of the control group were treated conservatively. In the stimulated group the velocity of wound healing amounted to 4.539% while in thecontrol group to only 1.896% of the initial wound surface per day (P=0.0097). By the end of the investigation, the final average surface of wounds had decreased by 64.5% in the stimulated group and by only 40.7% in thecontrol group. In the stimulated group the decreasing of the average surface was statistical significant (P=0.0186). The statistical significant difference in healing velocity between stimulated nad non-stimulated wounds proves that wounds treated by electrical stimulation heal faster than those inthe control group.
