  • A geometrical method to predict the macroporosity of woven fabrics

    This paper presents an experimental model to predict the porosity of woven fabrics made from staple-fibre yarn, particularly with regard to the area of pore cross-section, equivalent pore diameter, ... maximum and minimum pore diameters, pore density, and open porosity, on the basis of the geometrical parameters of woven strnctures, i.e. thread linear density, weave factor, and relative fabric density. The validity of experimental models is determined by a three-factor analysis.
