  • Strategic process of capability accumulation: a case study in manufacturing organization

    This paper presents an in-depth field reserach where the capability accumulation process is studied in four manufacturing organizations. Research on manufacturing organization resources and ... capabilities is attracting an increasing interest in the field of manufacturing strategy. There is more than a hint that the resource-based view (RBV) can present a theoretical framework for the manufacturing strategy research field. Despite the RBV potentials, some questions remain unanswered. The influence of the external environment and the level of accumulated capabilities on the capability accumulation process has not been adequately studied as yet. This research provides some answers that are relevant for the development of manufacturing strategy. The results presented in this paper are derived from a multiple cross-case analysis.
