This new volume is dedicated to the artist's early works, beginning with pieces executed while she was still a student ... at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts and closing with examples of Genzken's creative output right before she moved to Cologne with then-husband Gerhard Richter. The book takes into consideration the prevailing influence of Minimalism and Conceptualism, and the ways in which Genzken's early work constituted a response to such trends.
