Vinnese physician of Slovene parentage, Marko Anton Plenčič, a contemporary of the famous doctors and natural scientists J. A. Scopoli and C.Linne. Plen~i~s bookof essays has now been translated into Slovene. In it he discusses his thoughts on the causes of infectious disease and at its beginning speaks of contagion.
