    Is there are role for community pharmacy in health promotion? This paper will explore potentials for professional development of community pharmacy in the realm of health promotion. First, a concept ... of health and health promotion will be outlined, based on definitions and concepts of WHO. In the following, a brief description of patients and users of community pharmacy services, the setting community pharmacy and tasks carried out by community pharmacists willbe presented to explore options of health promotion. A brief overview on initiatives and models for health promotion in community pharmacy in Europe will be presented and perspectives for further development of the role of the pharmacist in health promotion will be outlined.
