    Pilots' qualifications depend among other things on their personal qualities. A study of pilots' personality revealed some personality dimensions that contribute to the achievement of higher ... qualifications. In our study we applied the Big Five Questionnaire (BFQ) to analyse the personal qualities of Slovenian sport pilots and compare them to the qualities of a control group consisting of members of the general population. Our aim was to define those critical personality parameters that assisted the pilots to achieve their position. The study involved a sample of 142 subjects, 62 of whom were sport pilots of the experimental group while another 80 were members of the general population of the control group. The results showed that the differences between sport pilots and the general population arise in the dimensions of energy, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness. The results of this study mainly overlap with those of previous research on pilots' personalities.
