    Assessment of seriousness of patient's condition is of great importance especially in emergency medicine. Correct and effective treatment depends on it and most often determines the outcome. Various ... scoring system, developed all over the world, enable more relevant and comparable measurements and help physican to make the decision not only on subjective impression. Besides that,a comparison of standardized groups of patients becomes possible by usingof scoring system. Three scoring systems, which have become to be used inemergency medical services in Slovenia, are presented in detail: Glasgow coma scale (GCS), Revised trauma score (RTS) and Mainz emergency evaluation score (MEES).
