A good route for the fabrication of CeO2 nanoparticles （nano-CeO2）/multi-walled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） modified glassy carbon electrodes （GCE） was proposed. MWCNTs are used to immobilize ...nano-CeO2. What＇s more, with the addition of the MWCNTs, the agglomeration level of CeO2 nanoparticles can be reduced, the extremely large surface area can be obtained and the electron transfer rate can be increased. The morphological char- acterization of nano-CeOz/MWCNTs was examined by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The performances of the nano-CeO2/MWCNTs/GCE were characterized with cyclic voltammetry （CV）, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） and typical amperometric response （i-t）. The potential utility of the constructed electrodes was demonstrated by applying them to the analytical determination of puerarin concentration. The catalytic oxidation of puerarin has a better result on nano-CeOz/MWCNTs/GCE because of the synergistic effect of nano-CeO2 and MWCNTs. An optimized limit of detection of 8.0 × 10^-9 mol/L was obtained at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3 and with a fast response time （within 3 s）. Additionally, the nano-CeO2/MWCNTs/GCE exhibited a wide linear range from 0.04 to 6.0 μmol/L and high sensitivity.
Professor Sun Lijuan has been engaged in acupuncture clinics for over 40 years and has created many specific acupuncture methods based upon her academic thoughts in respecting but not limited to ...ancient methods and by creating but not indulgent in new techniques, and by learning widely from other＇s strong points, she has achieved remarkable therapeutic effects in the treatment of difficult and intractable diseases not ideally treated by Chinese and western medications. The authors are very lucky to study with Prof. Sun in clinical workshop and to listen to her teachings. Now, Prof. Sun＇s clinical experience in acupuncture is briefly explained as follows.
Objective
To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and cupping on the back in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
Methods
Thirty-one cases of allergic rhinitis were treated by acupuncture and ...moving cupping, twice a week; five treatments made up one course and two-course treatments were given.
Result
Sixteen cases were cured, 14 cases improved and 1 case failed.
Conclusion
Acupuncture plus cupping has positive effects on allergic rhinitis.
A hydraulic power unit （HPU） is the driving ＂heart＂ of deep-sea working equipment. It is critical to predict its dynamic performances in deep-water before being immerged in the seawater, while the ...experimental tests by simulating deep-sea environment have many disadvantages, such as expensive cost, long test cycles, and difficult to achieve low-temperature simulation, which is only used as a supplementary means for confirmatory experiment. This paper proposes a novel theoretical approach based on the linear varying parameters （LVP） modeling to foresee the dynamic performances of the driving unit. Firstly, based on the varying environment features, dynamic expressions of the compressibility and viscosity of hydranlic oil are derived to reveal the fluid performances changing. Secondly, models of hydraulic system and electrical system are accomplished respectively through studying the control process and energy transfer, and then LVP models of the pressure and flow rate control is obtained through the electro-hydraulic models integration. Thirdly, dynamic characteristics of HPU are obtained by the model simulating within bounded closed sets of varying parameters. Finally, the developed HPU is tested in a deep-sea imitating hull, and the experimental results are well consistent with the theoretical analysis outcomes, which clearly declare that the LVP modeling is a rational way to foresee dynamic performances of HPU. The research approach and model analysis results can be applied to the predictions of working properties and product designs for other deep-sea hydraulic pump.
Objective
To explore the rule of acupoints for treating nasal conditions in acupuncture verses.
Method
The 20 acupuncture verses were selected to build a database, and data were retrieved from the ...database with the key word of “nose”, and comprehensive analysis was done basing on the search results.
Results
In acupuncture verses, there were 12 verses referring to treatment of nasal conditions, including 22 acupoints prescription, in which 8 were repeated, involving 12 acupoints and 5 meridians. The major diseases included nasal bleeding, nasal polypus, rhinorrhoea and nasal obstruction.
Conclusion
The characteristics of treating nasal conditions in acupuncture verses included selecting acupoint along meridian, selecting acupoint from the local area and selecting acupoints from yang meridian. Shangxing (GV 23), Yingxiang (LI 20) and Hegu (LI 4) can be the basic acupoints for treating nasal conditions.
